If you're on Week 36 of your pregnancy, it's a REALLY good idea to have your bags ready!
Many new parents overpack because they don't know what their hospital will provide. Tip: Call them in advance/ take a tour to find out what you will get.

Mom Essentials
ID, insurance card, hospital paperwork + folder
Phone + long charger cable
2x comfortable PJs / 1x nursing robe / optional: nursing gown
Perineal Recovery: 20x Heavy duty pads, 8x perineal ice pads
Toiletries: Toothbrush, Toothpaste, Face wash, shampoo, deodorant, makeup &makeup remover
Optional: Underwear: 3x non-slip socks/ comfy slippers/ 1x nursing bra
Optional: Own pillow + pillowcase, Eye mask, Ear plugs
Optional for Perineal recovery: peri bottle, pads with witch hazel, healing foam
Playlist with meaningful songs/ Journal
Baby Essentials
Car seat or for best value as part of a stroller + car seat combo
Optional: Receiving blanket/ Extra swaddle
Optional: Pacifier, Nicer blanket for photos, Nail scissors set

Perineal recovery: Maxi pads (hospital-grade, very thick), Peri bottle (for rinsing after using the bathroom), Ice packs / cooling packs (for perineal swelling), Witch hazel pads , Dermoplast spray or numbing spray (some hospitals), Basic pain meds (ibuprofen, acetaminophen, sometimes stronger if needed), Stool softener (if prescribed)
